artifaxis must be very nearly finished now  (its on its last issue) - i might have to try n squeeze in a 'yay for the conclusion of the story!' fanart XD i really would love to do a cast pic...but there are so many other things to do! >.< maybe it'd be quicker if they were all chibis.... *ponders*

i got a really nice comment on CLM over on DrunkDuck today:

I just read every issue of this comic and I gotta say it's one of the best ones I've ever read.You have a very creative concept, a very unique art style and an unforgettable cast of characters...

*squees!* most of the stuff i do for myself and not comps (CLM/Fleet) is straight out of my brain onto the paper, not really thinking too much about who the audience is, more that i like it and i wanna share it, so hearing that someone else is on my wavelength is kinda cool B-)

(erm...i guess by 'issue' they mean strip? o.O; )

working on getting both of my friend's moving house cards out of the way today, so hopefully the final versions of those will be up later ^^

watching/reading

reading deathnote and i'm totally hooked! im on vol. 5 right now - i'm loving the way its drawn too *drools*

also reading artifaxis and enjoying the action! things are really hotting up there too - i'm up to the pages from about feb/march this year now ^^

we finished watching my b'day boxsets of futurama ;_; now we're back onto excel saga...who's episodes are getting a bit too random even for me o.O; oh! and we're also still wading thro supernatural - nearly finished the 1st series now! ...but why didn't they get actors for the brothers who looked anything like each other? o.O;

i've been listening to: the best of john lee hooker

i drew this as a birthday present for sun kitten and was able to give it to her at WednesdayAnime - its the first time i've given someone a semi-original-copy of a picture! (there isn't 1 'original copy' of this one, as the sketch is a separate blue one and the linework was also drawn separately...the original i gave morag was the linework printed onto a thin card, with the original colouring on top ^^ )... geez today seems to be a day of needlessly long explanations of stuff XD (digital work sort of doesn't count, is there an 'original' in digital work? i don't know...)



anyway, this is rain - a character from sun kitten's comic artifaxis!

i enjoyed flicking through my old issues 1-5 in order to find character reference for this pic (and reference for the objects on the table...the weighing scales are from the 'real' department of anomalous artifacts in issue 1...altho the glass pot thing is 1/2 made up from a cool one i semi-remember from a room in myst II: Riven ^^;; ) i don't know why rain's sitting on a desk chair...i looked through for chair refs in the comic but people don't tend to feature chairs very highly in comics! a computer chair just seemed to fit the pic ^^

now that i've got my grubby paws on a copy of issues 6/7 i think i'll re-read them from the start ^^

an interesting snippet about this one: apart from the face, its a flip of the original sketch - i initially drew [her] on the left, but when i flipped it to check the anatomy i found that i much preferred [her] sitting on the right, so i kept it. luckily the body didn't require changing at all, but i'd drawn the head a bit skewed, so i re-drew it and cutened up the face a bit ^^ its also the 1st time i've broken out my coloured pencils in *years* but i might get back into some coloured pencil drawing!

today

today i'm back on rapunzel full-time! (apart from procrastinating once more by writing journal entries ^^; ) - the butterfly project is hanging in the balance as the client got a new publicist, so there may be changes to the website its to be featured on...so its on the back burner until i get news...

i'm finishing off her foot this morning so i should be able to post up 1 WIP or two of the model...annoyingly i've been working on her on-and-off for ages now, she hasn't actually taken me weeks on end to make, i've just been taken off onto other jobs like cards, butterfly and fanart! >.< but hopefully this time i'll be able to work though on her til she's finished! O.O

i feel a bit less tired today *phew!* so hopefully i fought off whatever it was that trying to ill-ify me ^_^
